Brownlow Farm

Stubton, Lincolnshire

We was employed by Dyson Farming to collaborate with them in bringing a derelict farm building into the 21st century by upgrading it to modern, highly insulated, efficient high end accommodation for the directors of the farming business.

The building was completely re-pointed using lime mortar with any badly damaged bricks replaced with reclaimed bricks, the timber roof was completely made from scratch by our talented craftsmen with the existing queen post trusses fully refurbished, with new clay pantiles as covering. Our newly opened bespoke timber workshop made all of the sapele hardwood external windows and doors, the walls, floors and ceilings were fully insulated and plastered to give a modern, clean feel to the property with quirky exposed traditional features.

The external areas of the properties were landscaped a new access road was put in a parking area and raised planters to finish the property off to the very highest of standards and to the clients wants and needs.

Brownlow Farm, Stubton for Dyson Farming

Value: £550k

Completed: November 2019

This building was literally taken back to it’s shell (and that was only just kept!) the roof was completely removed apart from the original queen post trusses, any windows and old barn doors that were in situ we all removed, some of the structurally unsound masonry was carefully taken down, the concrete ground floor and timber 1st floor were all taken out.

Then along with the client and designer we worked together in designing the new floors, roof, layout of the properties, Kitchens and Bathrooms.
